Using the Branches to Grow the UK Landscape Institute

Growing the Landscape Institute: Empowering the LI Branches to increase membership, increase recruitment and raise the profile of landscape architecture

The CEO of the Landscape Institute wrote to Tom Turner  in September 2025 that “I look forward to you sharing your reflections on future membership growth strategies” (1.9.2025). To respond, we had a discussion on the Landscape Institute: Members Group on LinkedIn and I’ve written five notes (see links below). As I see it, the LI Branches can do much  to boost our membership, to raise our profile – and to get more and better work for LI members. These are key objectives of the LI Corporate Strategy so I wrote a set of LinkedIn articles on the subject.
