How can the workload of the Landscape Institute be expanded?

Expanding the scope of landscape architecture

The period which began with the attempted removal of President Elect Brodie McAllister in June 2022 was the worst year in the 93-year history of the Landscape Institute partly because over £170,000 was wasted on lawyers fees. So let’s turn to the future and think what the money could have achieved if used in another way. Economics involves analysis of the use of scarce resources which have alternative uses and competing ends. The alternative uses include:

  1. The establishment of a digital archive for the work of Landscape Institute members and practices
  2. Digitisation of the back issues of the LI journal in its various manifestations
  3. Meetings of the fellows
  4. A larger contribution to the Landscape Archive (held by MERL at Reading)
  5. A contribution to the forthcoming Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Exhibition
